Mike Guthmiller

Mike spent the latter part of his career as the quality assurance director at a major aerospace manufacturing company in the Central Valley. The job is about making sure things are built the way they're supposed to be built. He did it for over twenty years.

He's been doing woodworking the whole time, mostly things for the family. He built beds, headboards, and storage chests for his daughters when they were younger. Nothing he would have called serious work, but he kept at it.

When he retired, he set up a proper shop in the detached garage and started treating it more like a job. He settled on a focused collection of products. Each one has been built enough times that he knows where the problems are.

He won't ship something he isn't satisfied with. That's just how he works.
